FAQ

Everything else people ask.

Joining, languages, voice, events, privacy and what happens if something goes wrong.

What is The Gossipers?

The Gossipers is an Indian Discord community built around conversation. It brings together 100K+ members for Hindi, English and Hinglish chats, voice channels, gaming, anime, memes, events and late-night talks. It is meant to feel like a busy group chat you actually want to open.

Is it free to join?

Yes. Joining is free. You need a Discord account, and you should be old enough to use Discord under its Terms of Service. There is no paid membership required to access the community.

Who is The Gossipers for?

It is for people who want an active Indian community to talk to. You do not need to be a gamer, extroverted or online at a specific time. Some members mostly chat, some mostly listen in VC, and some only show up for events.

What languages do people speak?

Hindi, English and Hinglish are all part of the mix. You can switch between them naturally. The goal is to understand each other, not to police how someone types or speaks.

How active is the server?

Chats and voice channels stay active through the day, with the busiest stretch usually later at night. The live counters on this site are pulled from Discord’s public invite data and update every few minutes. Exact numbers move around, so think of them as a vibe check rather than a fixed score.

Is the server SFW?

Yes. The community is moderated and SFW. NSFW, sexually explicit or excessively graphic content is not allowed anywhere in the server. Harassment, hate speech and privacy violations are also against the rules.

Is this a dating server?

The Gossipers is a social community first, not a matchmaking service. People make friends here, and friendships can go wherever they go, but the server is not built around dating or pairing people up.

Do I need a mic to join?

No. Plenty of members listen first and talk later, or never turn on a mic at all. You can type in chat, join a VC muted, or just watch an event. There is no requirement to speak.

What games do people play?

Gaming is one of the core categories. Members organise sessions across popular titles, and the lineup depends on who is online and what people feel like playing. Once you join, check the gaming channels for the current squads and lobbies.

Are there events?

Yes. The community runs game nights, watch parties, voice hangouts and giveaways from time to time. Schedules are posted inside the server, so the events channel is the best place to see what is coming next.

How do I join?

Use the Join button anywhere on this site. It opens the Discord invite for The Gossipers. Accept the invite, complete any onboarding prompts, read the rules and say hi when you feel ready.

What are the rules?

The short version: respect people, no NSFW, no spam, protect privacy, no unapproved advertising, follow mod instructions and follow Discord’s Terms of Service. The full rules are listed on this site and inside the server.

How do I report someone?

Use the server’s report or ticket channel and contact a moderator. Do not retaliate or start a public argument. If the issue involves immediate danger or illegal content, use Discord’s own reporting tools and the appropriate local authorities.

Can I advertise my server or content?

Not without staff approval. Unsolicited advertising, recruiting and invite links are against the rules. If you have something genuinely useful for the community, ask a moderator first.

What makes The Gossipers different?

It is the combination: a large Indian community, active text and voice, Hindi and English, gaming and anime, events and a moderation team that keeps it SFW. You can be as social or as quiet as you want without feeling like you are in the wrong room.

Reporting

If something feels wrong, tell a moderator.

You do not need to have screenshots of everything or a perfectly written statement. Use the server’s report or ticket channel, explain what happened and let the team handle it. Do not retaliate or turn it into a public argument.
